The documents below include the statewide 2018-19 school year statewide assessment results presentation and supporting data files. The data files provide aggregate state-, sector-, and school-level results for both DC Science and Dynamic Learning Maps.
- 2018-19 District of Columbia DC Science Assessment Results Presentation [PDF]: This PowerPoint includes information on the DC Science Assessment, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the state performance results of the first year of administration.
- 2018-19 DC Science School Level [XLS]: This file includes the percentage of students scoring ‘meeting or exceeding expectations’ and the percentage of students at each of the four performance levels on the DC Science Assessment for each school. In addition, results are broken down for each school at every grade level. Note: The DC Science Assessment has four performance levels. Levels 3 and 4 indicate meeting and exceeding expectations, respectively.
- 2018-19 Detailed DC Science and DLM Performance Results [XLS]: This report contains the official 2018-19 assessment performance results for the DC Science Assessment and DLM. The file contains detailed information, showing multiple levels of results for specific groups of students, for all grades within a school, and for individual grades.
- 2018-19 School, LEA, and State Participation [XLS]: This file includes the final state, LEA, and school level participation aggregations for the 2018-19 DC Science Assessment and DLM. Participation rates can be sorted by grade and for specific groups of students.
- 2018-19 DC Science and DLM Participation and Performance Results for Students with Disabilities [XLS]: This report contains the 2018-19 DC Science Assessment and DLM participation and performance results at the state, LEA, and school levels for students with disabilities, students with disabilities with registered accommodations, and students with the most significant cognitive disabilities taking DLM.

- Practice Tests and Tutorials: Grades 5, 8, and high school biology DC Science Assessment Practice Tests are available on the DC Pearson Portal. These resources provide opportunities for students to become familiar with and practice using the online tools, navigation, and item types. Each test includes an online version, a paper accommodated version in PDF form, an answer key, and a rubric to use with the constructed response items.
- Assessment Design Documents: To better understand the structure and content of the assessment, the DC Science Assessment Design and Blueprints documents provide details about the assessment claim structures, test blueprints, and details of how the DC Science Assessment is designed to measure student learning in science. DLM Assessment Design and Blueprints documents can be found on DLM’s website.
- Performance Level Descriptors: The DC Science Assessment Performance Level Descriptor (PLD) documents outline specific expectations of student performance. The PLDs delineate and provide examples of what a typical student within a performance level would know and be able to demonstrate from a content perspective. The PLDs show a progression of multidimensional performance across performance levels aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These documents can be useful to better understand the performance levels in the DC Science Assessment reports.
