The District of Columbia public and public charter schools are switching to the Partnership for Assessments of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test for school year 2014-15.
The universal design of PARCC assessments is expected to increase access for most students through the availability of a range of accessibility features for all students.
PARCC has adopted most accommodations that we permit on DC CAS, as detailed in the table below.

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 requires USDA to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools during the school day. View the presentation attached below for more information on smart snacks.
In 2015, schools and LEAs will have flexibility to choose their testing windows for PARCC. Each school must choose a Performance Based Assessment (PBA) and End of Year (EOY) testing window of 20 or 10 consecutive school days within the total administrative windows listed below:
