The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is committed to ensuring child and student data are well-protected, managed, used and stored. In order to do this, the agency follows strong data governance and privacy policies and practices.

Student participation in District assessments is a critical tool for informing students, families and citizens about the progress of students in our public schools and for improving educational outcomes for all District students.  Participation in District-wide assessments is required by DC

The District School Garden Assessment has been developed by OSSE to assist District School Garden Coordinators  to evaluate their programs, to help focus and guide conversations with school wellness committees, and to reassess thriving garden programs or plan new programs altogether.
