2022-23 Test Security and Incident Forms

OSSE provides test security guidelines and resources to ensure that schools and LEAs deliver uniform and equitable testing programs. For assessments to yield fair and accurate results, the assessments are to be administered in consistent and standardized conditions. The best way for us to support schools and LEAs in administering quality assessments is to ensure educators understand and recognize acceptable and unacceptable assessment practices.

To read more about the importance of test security, please refer to the June 2011 letter from the US Department of Education addressed to the Chief State School Officers.

Test Security Training for 2022-23 Assessment Administrations

OSSE’s Office of Assessments has developed a series of seven training modules to prepare for the 2022-23 administration of the statewide assessments. These training modules will cover test security and test integrity information as well as an overview of the school test security plans. The complete viewing of the modules is required for all LEA Assessment Managers (LEA Test Coordinators/Test Integrity Coordinators) and Nonpublic School Test Coordinators, including those responsible for ACCESS and Alternate ACCESS, MSAA, DLM, DC Science Assessment, and PARCC.

LEA Test Coordinators/Test Integrity Coordinators and Nonpublic School Test Coordinators who are new to the role this year are required to participate in one of the live Test Security Training sessions, either in-person or virtually, and may use these modules as an ongoing resource for reference.

Returning coordinators may complete the modules and quiz asynchronously, or they can attend one of the live Test Security Training sessions.

All are required to complete the 2023 Test Security Training Module Series and certification form and successfully pass the 2023 Test Security Training Quiz. A score 80% or higher (out of 120 points) on the quiz will serve as the official attendance and completion of the 2022-23 Test Security Training.

While these required test security training modules are intended for assessment points of contact at the LEA level, the resources and information provided in these modules can be adapted by LEAs to train authorized personnel at the school level, inserting LEA- or school-specific policies as applicable.

Note: School test security plans will not be approved if the LEA Assessment Manager or LEA Test Coordinator listed in the plan has not completed the training and passed the quiz.

Full transcripts for all modules.
