High-Impact Tutoring Initiative: Grants

HIT Grants

FY25 High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) LEA Grant - Request for Application (RFA)

Overview:
The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) Local Education Agency (LEA) Grant on July 17, 2024. Funds are available to District of Columbia public and public charter school LEAs. The purpose of the grant is to help DC public LEAs launch, strengthen and expand evidence-based tutoring programs in schools for DC students, with a focus on those who are designated as economically disadvantaged.

How to Apply:
The application for the HIT LEA Grant is currently available through OSSE’s online Enterprise Grants Management System (EGMS), that is accessible at the following link: grants.osse.dc.gov. Interested LEAs must submit their completed applications through EGMS to be eligible for this grant.

HIT LEA Grant Application Documents:

  • High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) LEA Grant - Request for Application (RFA)
  • FY25 HIT LEA Program Model and Budget Template: Applicants must complete the FY25 HIT LEA Program Model and Budget Template and upload it into EGMS as part of the application. The template requires applicants to provide details about the proposed HIT programs and calculates the potential award amount based on the number of students the program will serve and the duration of the program. Please access the template through the link provided. Applications must include this completed template to be eligible for the HIT LEA Grant.
  • Notice of Intent to Apply Form: All organizations planning to apply for this grant must submit a completed Notice of Intent to Apply form by Aug. 16, 2024 via email to [email protected].
  • HIT School List: This spreadsheet identifies all schools in DC that are eligible for OSSE-funded HIT supports based on their percentage of economically disadvantaged students, which must be 40 percent or more. Schools with at least 70 percent of students designated as economically disadvantaged, or schools designated as Comprehensive Support and Improvement schools, are priority schools for the HIT Initiative. For the purposes of the FY25 HIT LEA Grant, applicants can also propose HIT programs at non-eligible schools, as long as 80 percent of the students enrolled in the HIT programs are designated as economically disadvantaged.
