An individual or organization may file a written, signed complaint alleging a violation of special education requirements under Part B or Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). For a complete description of the State complaint procedures, see 34 C.F.R.

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) Division of Early Learning (DEL) reviews curricula to determine whether they are aligned with the District of Columbia Early Learning Standards (DC ELS).

The 2016 Districtwide Assessment General Observation Check List is used by State OSSE Auditors for observation of school test integrity.


Test Integrity Technical Assistance

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will be releasing a $10 million grant program for the District’s public charter schools to support and prioritize the return of students to classrooms.
