The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is pleased to provide new Physical Education standards that reflect the changing landscape and needs of the District of Columbia.

OSSE launched the 2019 DC School Report Card on Nov. 26 and shared highlights of the second year of the tool and key findings from the School Transparency and Reporting Framework (STAR) Results.

Parents of English language learners (ELLs) are disadvantaged when helping their children in school because they often do not speak English. Many immigrant parents desire to learn English, yet research shows adult English programs have high attrition rates.

This document summarizes requirements for the collection and governance of attendance data submitted by local education agencies (LEAs) in the District of Columbia to OSSE. It supersedes previous guidance issued by OSSE, via the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME), on Aug. 23, 2016.

The 2016 Districtwide Assessment General Observation Check List is used by State OSSE Auditors for observation of school test integrity.
