[Friday, Jan. 4, 2019] - OSSE received approval of the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Plan for the District of Columbia FFY 2019-2021. The CCDF State Plan outlines the District’s strategy for providing subsidized child care to low-income working parents and caregivers and those engaged in education and job training activities.
[Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018] - The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Child Care (OCC) released the final State/Territory Child Care and Development Fund Preprint for FY 2019-2021 on Friday June 1, 2018. The final CCDF Plan Preprint and Program Instructions were posted to the OCC website on June 26. In addition, attached is an updated red-lined version of the Preprint.
The OCC released the draft Preprint last December and states were directed to develop draft CCDF Plans using the draft Preprint. This final Preprint incorporates comments and recommendations received on the draft document released last December. Some of the key changes made in the final Preprint include:
- Updated response options for states to report where implementation for a specific provision is “in progress”;
- New Appendix section outlining the criminal background check waiver process; and
- Clarification for responding to questions that apply to licensed child care facilities (centers and homes) and CCDF providers.
Due to the delayed release of the final Preprint, OCC has extended the deadline for states to submit its plan to Aug. 31, 2018. At the next SECDCC meeting, OSSE will provide a brief overview of the comments received on the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Draft Plan for the District of Columbia for the period of Oct. 1, 2018 through Sept. 30, 2021, and share highlights of changes made to the District’s Plan.
