Through the Healthy Tots Act, OSSE has created competitive grants that support child development facilities that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The Healthy Tots Act Wellness Grant Program awards up to $100,000 per year to organizations that can provide technical assistance and help implement wellness programming at targeted community-based child development facilities in the District of Columbia. The grant will allow facilities to implement new programs or enhance existing programs addressing physical activity and natural play areas, nutrition promotion, and nutrition education through gardens and farm-to-preschool. The FY2020 grant will be available in Enterprise Grants Management System (EGMS) starting Monday, June 17, 2019 at 12 p.m. and will remain open through Monday, Aug. 5, 2019 at 3 p.m.
