The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) cordially invites you to participate in our upcoming LEA Institute on Nov. 29, 2016, entitled 'It Takes a City: Bridging LEAs to Resources for Enhanced Student Outcomes'. Since the 2014-15 school year OSSE has brought educators, administrators, and other stakeholders together in order to bring awareness of District resources, important initiatives, and best practices in education through the LEA Institute. Mirroring our first institute in November 2014 that was met with great success, this institute will bring together LEA teams to hear from and engage with representatives from key District agencies to discuss how to remove barriers to student achievement. This event is designed to meet a pressing need expressed by educators for:

  • More information about what resources are available from non-educational service providers;
  • Better coordination between schools and agencies;
  • Clear, updated points of contact; and
  • A commitment to problem solving around longstanding, complex challenges.

OSSE is encouraging school teams (e.g., principal, assistant principal, social worker, guidance counselor, instructional coaches) to attend this event.
