In the 2025-26 school year (SY), the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will work with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) to make direct payments in an amount not to exceed $30,785,832 from the Workforce Investments Account to a bank designated by public charter local education agencies (LEAs) to increase the compensation of public charter school educators in accordance with Subtitle C. Public Charter School Educator Compensation Payments of 2025 in the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Support Act of 2025.
To determine the amount of funding for each LEA, OSSE will use the SY24-25 Final Certified Audited Enrollment data as the basis for the per-pupil calculation. We will provide public charter LEAs with the educator compensation allocation that aligns to the LEAs’ Uniform Per Student Funding Formula (UPSFF) eligible student population prior to disbursement.
For more information, assistance, or guidance, please reach out to OSSE’s School Finance Officer, Gabriel Montague, [email protected], or (202) 394-8977.
