These documents present the District of Columbia’s standards for educator preparation providers (EPPs) and subject area programs seeking state EPP and subject area program approval.
As of July 24, 2022, the effective date of Title 5, Subtitle A, Section 1700 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR), the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) adopted EPP and subject area program standards from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the relevant specialized professional association for each subject area program, respectively, for use in approving EPPs and subject area programs that prepare candidates to earn an educator credential in the District of Columbia. If there is no specialized professional association for a subject area program, OSSE developed its own standards in that subject area program.
