Practicing Allyship with LGBTQ+ Youth in Schools
Are you looking for better ways to support and advocate for your students? This advanced training will help educators learn new skills and strategies to advocate with LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer) youth in schools. In this 2-hour workshop, participants will dive deeper into the specific challenges and barriers that exist in supporting LGBTQ+ youth, and effective strategies for practicing allyship in schools. Attendees will explore the following topics:
An Introduction to Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth in Schools
In this introductory, 2-hour training, educators will explore different aspects of school culture that impact LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer) students. From learning correct terminology to best practices for working with youth, educators will walk away with improved cultural competency for addressing the needs of the LGBTQ+ community in schools.
