Private Schools: Annual Enrollment Reporting

Enrollment data for your school is due to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) each fall in the Private School Data Collection QuickBase Application. The Private Enrollment Application Instruction and FAQ includes more information about this process.

Exit Code Reporting

Student enrollments and withdrawals for your school are due by the 5th of each month in the Private School Data Collection QuickBase Application. When updating records for student withdrawals, include an explanation report to include the reason the student(s) left. The Private School Exit Codes includes more details on available exit codes.

Truancy Reporting

Private schools must notify OSSE and other District agencies when students accumulate excessive unexcused absences. The Truancy Notification Form should be used when notifying OSSE of students who have accumulated 10 unexcused absences.

Annual Attendance Summary Report

Within 60 days of the end of the school year, private schools are required to report to OSSE and make publicly available, a set of data that summarizes your school’s attendance for the year. Schools should use the Annual Attendance Summary Report Template to complete this request.

Enrollment Data and DC Health

OSSE is able to share school enrollment and immunization data with DC Health and eliminate the need for private schools to separately submit information to both agencies. For more information, contact [email protected].
