Homeless Education Program MKV Monthly Dialogue Schedule SY22-23

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE) Homeless Education Program has invited subject matter experts to present on a variety of topics that impact students and families experiencing homelessness. These one-hour monthly webinars are available to homeless liaisons, LEA/school-based staff, and community partners.

Presentations typically take place on the second Wednesday of each month, between October 2022 and May 2023, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Registration links will be added on a rolling basis. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the webinar.

  • Wed., Nov. 16, 2022 (Homeless Awareness Month) - DC DOORS will share information about their programs and services to support youth experiencing homelessness, referral services for health and wellness, and immigrant/undocumented youth residing in the District of Columbia.

  • Wed., Nov. 30, 2022 (Homeless Awareness Month) - Sasha Bruce Youthworks staff will share information on how they support youth experiencing homelessness with their educational programs, transitional housing, and workforce development opportunities.

  • Wed., Dec. 14, 2022 – Catholic Charities program staff will share information about their services and emergency resources to support families in need (rescheduled from Nov. 9, 2022).

  • Wed., Jan. 11, 2023 – Victim Legal Network of DC provides victims of crime with access to 24 different legal service organizations that can provide legal help in a variety of issues including (but not limited to) family law, immigration, and crime victims’ rights.
