Homeless Education Program: Data & Reporting

Students Experiencing Homelessness – Enrollment
The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is federally required to annually post the number of enrolled children and youth identified as homeless in public schools in the District of Columbia.

The data below reflect the number of students who experienced homelessness during specified school years. Students are included in these reports if, at any point during those school years, they were determined to be homeless and enrolled in school. Children and youth who were not enrolled in school are not included in this report.

Accordingly, the District of Columbia homeless student count by school year is the latest verified and certified statewide homeless student enrollment totals.
