The faces of students in classrooms and 21st Century Community Learning Center programs across the US become increasingly diverse every year. More and more children and youth from countries across the globe enter our schools and programs with different cultures, and speaking many different languages. When schools welcome families of English language learners and collaborate with them in ways that respect their cultures, assets, aspirations, and needs, the entire community and the schools themselves are enriched.
