The second quarterly webinar in the 2024 nonpublic point of contact (NP POC) webinar series provided participants with updates and reminders in the areas of OSSE monitoring activities, OSSE transportation, and OSSE’s course and calendar data collection. The webinar leverages OSSE’s position as the state education agency for the District of Columbia to convene stakeholders and provides a forum for NP POCs to share innovative approaches and best practices with their peers and counterparts. In this webinar, Woods Services, a residential treatment center in Pennsylvania, Kennedy Krieger Institute, a network of nonpublic special education day programs in Maryland, and Grafton Integrated Health Network with residential facilities in Virginia share strategies for reducing and in some case virtually eliminating the use of physical restraints and seclusion.
