Special full-day workshop for high school science teachers
OSSE is partnering with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) to host “Got Lactase? From Gene to Phenotype,” a full-day workshop for high school science teachers with a focus on rigorous, standards-aligned pedagogy. Participants will explore free resources from HHMI BioInteractive, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), to teach concepts in genetics, natural selection, and enzymes. Participants will receive free classroom-ready materials to enhance content knowledge and classroom practice.
This full-day workshop will take place in conjunction with the LEA Institute “It Takes a City: DC Does it Best!” on Thursday, May 25, 2017, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Rd. NW. Participants of this workshop must register specifically with HHMI, and must also register for the overall LEA Institute, for which lunch will be provided.
