As part of the Healthy Schools Act, the Healthy Youth and Schools Commission was created to inform the Mayor and the Council on the health, wellness, and nutritional issues concerning youth and schools in the District. The Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor from government, business, and community organizations across the city. The Healthy Youth and Schools Commission meets quarterly and meetings are open to the public.
