The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) seeks your input in the 2022-23 Annual Special Education Parent Survey, a survey about parent/guardian involvement in individualized education program (IEP) team meetings at District of Columbia schools.
Your responses are collected by OSSE and will remain confidential.
- The survey should take approximately 10 minutes.
- You may skip any item that you feel does not apply to you.
- Your responses should reflect your experience during the 2022-23 school year.
- If you have more than one child who received special education services, please complete a survey for each child.
- The survey is available in Spanish, Amharic, Chinese, French, Korean, and Vietnamese. Please select your preferred language on the survey homepage.
- The survey will remain open until Friday, Dec. 29, 2023.
A summary of the survey results will be sent to the US Department of Education (USED) as a part of our annual reporting on DC school special education compliance and performance under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Your responses will also inform the new Special Education Performance Report (SEPR), an annual report designed to evaluate special education programs and provide families with meaningful information about progress toward achieving equitable outcomes for students with disabilities.
If you have questions or need assistance in completing the survey, please contact Jasmine Fleming at [email protected].
