The DC State Board of Education (DCSBOE) announces an extension to the application period for students applying to be Student Representatives to the DC State Board of Education. Please view the revised Student Representative Application. The new closing date is Friday, July 24, 2009. 

The State Board will begin the selection process Monday, July 27, 2009. This opportunity provides the selection committee time to review the applications from a diverse group of talented youth from across the city. The academic achievements by students who apply are truly inspiring. Beyond the academic accomplishments these students are involved in a breadth of extracurricular activities. The students who participate in competition for this opportunity represent the strong leadership skills of the District of Columbia’s students. 

The 2008 Student Representatives have completed their terms. The State Board members are extremely appreciative of the diverse ideas and unique viewpoints demonstrated by this year’s representatives.
