(Washington, DC) As part of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education's (OSSE) ongoing effort to solicit feedback on its transition process, the agency released the proposed interim organizational structure for stakeholder review.

This proposed structure, which is based on the feedback from three different models that were showcased at the June 27 Open House, represents many of the stakeholder's suggestions and concerns. Of the three models presented (Multi-Disciplinary Teams, Functional, and Regional Teams),  participants found the Functional Model to be:

  • The most comprehensive, feasible, and understandable model
  • The model that would most smoothly transition functions
  • The most practical based on current skills and culture of the office

While there is strong support for this proposed functional structure, some of the elements from the two other models were integrated into this current version.

Select the link below to review the proposed organizational structure and email your comments to [email protected]  through Friday, July 6, 2007.  The next phase of the transition will include continued improvements. Opportunities for additional feedback will be provided. Please feel free to forward this information.
