(Washington, DC) Mayor Adrian M. Fenty will hold a public roundtable discussion on the Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE) transition plan. The public is invited to attend the roundtable to share input and learn more about the transition of state-level functions into the OSSE. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the State Superintendent of Education Deborah A. Gist will be available to answer questions from the community about the OSSE’s transition efforts. Invited speakers also include: District of Columbia Council Chair Vincent Gray; State Board of Education President Robert Bobb; and Ward 7 Councilmember Yvette Alexander.
The roundtable discussion will be held at Burrville Elementary School located at 801 Division Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20019, on Thursday, August 30, 2007, starting at 5:30 pm. Burrville Elementary School is accessible via Metro’s Minnesota Avenue Station (Orange Line) followed by the U8 Metrobus towards Capital/Benning Heights, NE,—Nannie H. Burroughs Avenue and Division Avenue stop.
