(Washington, DC) – On Monday, March 11, at 10:15 am, Mayor Bowser will kick off the National League of Cities (NLC) Congressional City Conference, promoting federal partnerships to improve infrastructure and housing affordability across the country. During this conference, Mayor Bowser will convene the National League of Cities housing taskforce, which she chairs. Discussions will focus on strategies to ensure that every American has access to safe, affordable and stable housing options.
The Mayor will also lead discussions on framing the aspirations of city leaders on their ideal housing solutions and what federal resources, reforms and supports would be most helpful to cities. The work of the taskforce will be memorialized in a report to be presented at the NLC Summer 2019 Leadership Meeting.
