Today, Thursday, August 16, at 5 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will announce the District of Columbia’s 2018 results from the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). Following the announcement, the Mayor will cut the ribbon on the newly modernized Bancroft Elementary School at 6 pm.
The PARCC assessment measures progress on the Common Core State Standards and provides information about whether students are on track to be academically ready for college and career pathways. The District of Columbia public and public charter schools began participating in the PARCC in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics in grades 3-8 and high school in the 2014-15 school year, in place of the DC Comprehensive Assessment System (DC CAS) exam.
