DC State Board of Education Student Representative Kevin Jackson Wins $5,000 Scholarship

Kevin Jackson has served as a student representative on the DC State Board of Education since 2009.

(Washington, DC) – The District of Columba State Board of Education (DCSBOE) congratulates student representative Kevin Jackson Jr. on being selected for the United States Senate Youth Program. Kevin is one of two students selected from the District of Columbia to attend the program’s 49th annual Washington Week to be held March 5-12, 2011.

DC State Board of Education Student Representative Kevin Jackson Jr. will join over 100 peers from all over the country in meetings and briefings with President Obama, Congressional Staff, Senators, and other leaders in the federal government. All expenses are paid for the delegates to travel to the District of Columbia and each student will receive a $5,000 Scholarship provided by The Hearst Foundation.

Kevin Jackson is a senior at McKinley Technology High School. He has served as a student representative on the DC State Board of Education since 2009. Kevin plans to study information technology and political science at Stanford University in the fall.
