The District of Columba State Board of Education and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education will host the first of eight HIV/AIDS Awareness Workshops in Ward Seven.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 6 pm at the Planned Parenthood Northeast Egypt Center located at 3933 Minnesota Avenue, NE. Parents and teen students who live in Ward Seven are encouraged to participate in the information session.

The workshop will include presentations from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and community and nonprofit organizations that are committed to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic among youth in the District of Columbia. DC State Board of Education Ward Seven Representative Dorothy Douglas will facilitate the workshop, which is sponsored by the National Association of State Boards of Education.
