DC State Board of Education Holds Special Meeting to Address Student Residency Verification

The proposed change will allow for the residency verification process to commence immediately upon approval by the SBOE.

On Wednesday, June 4, the DC State Board of Education (SBOE) will hold a Special Meeting to discuss an emergency request to alter the official starting date for the residency verification process. The proposed change, developed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), will allow for the residency verification process to commence immediately upon approval by the SBOE. Currently, DCMR Title V, Chapter 50, Section 5002 states that residential verification run from July 1 until October 5 of each year.
