At the first regularly scheduled public meeting of the new decade, the DC State Board of Education (DCSBOE) will vote on two issues. They will be to identify the new president and vice president who will provide leadership the State Board for the 2010 year.
The State Board will also officially celebrate the 2009 Teacher of the Year.
The State Board will receive one presentation from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). It will be about the current Race to the Top application process. Additionally, OSSE will provide an update on Special Education.
The public meeting will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the District of Columbia State Board of Education Chambers, located on the lobby level of the building.
Constituents who wish to comment at the hearings are required to notify the State Board of Education in advance by contacting the Executive Director, Beverley Wheeler, by phone at (202) 741-0884 or by email at [email protected] 24 hours before the scheduled meeting time. Please provide one electronic copy and bring fifteen copies to the hearing for the State Board members to view.
