DC State Board of Education Holds Public Hearing on Support and Intervention for Low Performing Schools

Students, parents, community members, teachers, school leaders, and education stakeholders can express their views Thursday, January 10, at 6:00 pm

(Washington, DC) On Thursday, January 10th, The DC State Board of Education will hold a public hearing on a plan for a statewide system of support and intervention for the District of Columbia’s low performing public schools. The hearing is starting promptly at 6:00pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the Old Council Chambers.

The hearing is scheduled so that students, parents, community members, teachers, school leaders, and education stakeholders can express their views on what has worked within schools to improve academic performance and what barriers are preventing real school reform.

Constituents who wish to comment at the hearing are required to contact the State Board of Education prior to the hearing by calling State Board of Education Executive Director Beverley Wheeler at (202) 741-0884.
