The District of Columbia State Board of Education will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 2008.  At the meeting, the State Board will vote on the proposed early learning standards, truancy regulations, standards for teacher preparation programs and recommendations to improve education in the 21st century.

The hearing will begin at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the District of Columbia State Board of Education Chambers, located on the lobby level of the building. The nearest metro is Judiciary Square on the Red Line.

Constituents who wish to comment at the meeting are required to notify the State Board in advance by contacting Executive Director, Beverley Wheeler, by phone at (202) 741-0884 or by email at [email protected] before the close of business Monday, December 15, 2008. Please provide one electronic copy in advance, and bring 15 hard copies to the hearing for the State Board members to view.
