DC State Board of Education to Hold Public Meeting on Home School Policies

The 30-day public comment period is February 29 through March 29, 2008.

 

On Wednesday, March 5, the DC State Board of Education will hold a public meeting to gather the public’s views on the draft policy for Home Schooling.

 

The meeting starts promptly at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the Old Council Chambers. Constituents who wish to comment at the meeting are required to contact the State Board of Education prior to the meeting by calling State Board of Education Executive Director Beverley Wheeler at (202) 741-0884.

 

The meeting will air live on DSTV-Channel 99.

 

Update:

 

State Superintendent of Education Deborah Gist and State Board of Education President Robert Bobb are inviting the public to comment on the Home School proposal which establishes procedural rules to implement a home schooling program for District of Columbia residents in grades K through 12 for minors from the ages of 5 through 18.

 

The 30-day public comment period: February 29 through March 29, 2008.
