DC Office of the State Superintendent Holds Literacy Symposium May 17

This Year's theme is "Making a Connection: A Vocabulary-Comprehension Symposium for Struggling Readers"

On Saturday, May 17, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will host the 5th Annual Literacy Symposium, a DC Reading First Initiative. The symposium will focus on new ideas and strategies that school administrators, teachers, literacy coaches and parents can use to help increase student reading proficiency by the third grade. This year the theme is "Making a Connection: A Vocabulary-Comprehension Symposium for Struggling Readers."
