2011 NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR, WASHINGTON, DC

OVER 12,000 ATTENDEES EXPECTED - NOW INCLUDING MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

 

What:    Providing over 12,000 parents and students the opportunity to meet with representatives from 300 universities and colleges throughout the United States, England and Canada, The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will partner with the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC) on Tuesday, October 18th to host the National College Fair at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, one of several activities held in the District for College Awareness Month this October. For this day-long event, area students and parents can meet one-on-one with college representatives; visit the Counseling Center to talk with a counselor about choosing majors and get information on financial aid, grants and scholarships.

 

When:   Tuesday, October 18, 2011

9 AM – 1:00 PM -- 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

 

Where:                 Walter Washington Convention Center

(Metro Green Line: Mt. Vernon Square, 7th and Mt. Vernon Place NW.)

National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC)

Parents and Students from DC Public Schools, DC Charter Schools, Maryland and Virginia

 

Additional Info:

The 2010 fair was the largest college fair ever held in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with Over 8,500 students from DC public schools, DC public charter schools, as well as Virginia and Maryland attending.  Representatives from over 250 universities and colleges throughout the United States, England and Canada were also in attendance.  The 2011 fair will significantly exceed last year’s attendance as over 12,000 parents and students are expected to attend!
