DC recognizes the importance of STEM as part of a well-rounded educational experience. STEM skills and knowledge are not only valuable components to a solid academic program, but also core fundamentals for life experience.Through Race to the Top (RTTT), and with the help of the DC STEM Network and other partners, DC has developed a statewide STEM strategic plan that will leverage local and national partnerships and expertise with rigorous standards and challenging and interesting programs. DC’s coordinated statewide plan for STEM will be implemented in three phases, beginning Fall 2014.
