Quorum: Online Professional Development Resource

Wednesday, October 1, 2025

Effective Nov. 1, 2025, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) no longer supports free access to SmartTeach (formerly known as Quorum). Early childhood educators and administrators cannot access their OSSE-sponsored SmartTeach accounts, complete coursework or download certificates or transcripts.

Options for Completing Health and Safety Trainings

Early childhood educators and administrators must complete health and safety training every fiscal year.

A list of health and safety trainings available in the OSSE Learning Management System (OSSE LMS) that meet the child care licensing requirements is available here (Español).

A list of trainers and organizations that are approved by OSSE to provide child care staff training on specific health and safety topics is available here.

Options for Obtaining or Renewing a Child Development Associate (CDA)

Several CDA programs are available to DC early childhood educators at no cost. More information on CDA programs supported by OSSE and community partners is available here. The ECE Help Desk can help direct educators to the program that meets their needs. Early childhood educators can reach the ECE Help Desk at [email protected] or (202) 478-5903.
