Parent Involvement in State Testing Training

Thursday, June 27, 2013

Research from university collaborations from North Carolina State University, Brigham Young University and the University of California-Irvine (October 2012) shows that involved parents and guardians greatly impact the academic success of their children. Parents who routinely:

  • check homework
  • attend school meetings and events, and
  • discuss school activities with their kids while at home

"have more powerful influence on students' academic performance than anything about the school the students attend."

Please find the short presentation to help communicate the message of parent engagement and involvement.
