Educational Services for Eligible Pretrial Detainees and Sentenced Inmates Housed at DOC Facilities

In November 2017, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), the Department of Corrections (DOC), and the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) entered into this MOA regarding educational services for pretrial detainees and sentenced inmates incarcerated at DOC facilities. The purpose of the MOA is to clarify each participating agency’s responsibility for improving educational outcomes for eligible students by minimizing disruption in general and special educational services during detainment or incarceration.
