Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clagett Farm


Location –11904 Old Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772

Field trip season – Mid-March through mid-December

Days/times site is open for field trips – 7 days/week

Grade levels welcome – Fourth grade to adult

Length of field trips – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (can be adjusted based on age group)

Travel time from downtown DC – 45 minutes

Student:Chaperone ratio –30 total participants (students/teachers/chaperones).

Protocol for inclement weather – Rain or shine, canceled for severe weather

Cost of field trip – $220 for K-12 students groups; $1,000 for adult groups

Lunch – Students must bring their own to eat at on-site picnic tables

Dress code – Closed-toe shoes & weather appropriate attire; pants, hats, & sunscreen suggested.

Type of farm – Working

Wheelchair accessible – Yes, although adjustments to the trip may have to be made.

Bathroom on site – Yes, compostable toilets.

Liability insurance – Yes
