Location – 9000 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309

Field trip season – Early September to early November & April to mid-June

Days/times site is open for field trips – Wed, Thurs, Fri 10:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Grade levels welcome – Pre-K to 5th grade

Length of field trips – Three hour rotation through five stations: Plant Parts, Harvest and Taste, Soil and Compost, Pests and Pollinators, and Chickens

Travel time from downtown DC – 45 minutes

Student:Chaperone ratio – 10:1 (no more than nine chaperones per field trip group)

Protocol for inclement weather – Rain or shine, canceled for thunder/severe weather

Cost of field trip – $100-400/trip; based on percent free and reduced meal eligibility

Lunch – Students bring their own to eat at on-site picnic tables; lunch time is included in the schedule and there is a salad bar for all to enjoy

Dress code – Clothes to get dirty in

Type of farm – Working and teaching

Wheelchair accessible – Yes, although adjustments to the trip may have to be made

Bathroom on site – Yes

Liability insurance – Yes
