Mayor’s Scholars Undergraduate Program Requirements

Type of Application

Minimum Requirements

Graduate of DC public high school (including DCPS and public charters) Graduation years 2005-2015

1. If currently enrolled in college: cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher (unweighted)

or

If you have never enrolled in college: cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher (unweighted).

2. Financial need: Expected Family Contribution (EFC) equivalent to (or less than) that of Pell Grant eligibility (EFC of $5,198 for academic year 2015-2016).

Older youth or adult learner who has passed the GED or earned a diploma through the NEDP in years 2005-2015.

1. GED or NEDP completion, with minimum scores on one of the following exams.*

Accuplacer: English 86, Math 85, Reading 78 (must meet threshold on 1 of 3)
CASAS: Reading 241, Math 231 (must meet threshold on 1 of 2)
TABE: Reading 581, Language 572, Combined Math: 580 (must meet threshold on 1 of 2)

2. Financial need: Expected Family Contribution (EFC) equivalent to (or less than) that of Pell Grant eligibility (EFC of $5,198 for academic year 2015-2016).

*Students who pass the GED with 157 or higher on each section (2014 version) are not required to submit Accuplacer, CASAS, or TABE scores.
