OSSE's Division of Health and Wellness recently established a new Health and Wellness Liaison Program and would like to invite your school/center to participate. The program was established in response to the expressed need of on-site support for LEAs, schools and early care and education (ECEs) centers in health education, physical education/activity, school health services, and nutrition educational services.
The purpose of the Health and Wellness Liaison Program is to support the District’s LEAs, schools, and ECEs in implementing comprehensive health and physical education and physical activities through direct capacity and support. The program also helps to streamline foundational principles and skills that fall within several health-related federal and local programs and align with the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) Model.
If your center or school is interested in receiving support from a liaison, please take a few minutes to complete the form no later than May 26, 2017. Once the form is completed, you would be contacted by an OSSE representative for next steps. If selected, you will be matched with a liaison trained by OSSE who will give you direct support for up to 16 hours/week. Liaisons are undergraduate students, graduate students and recent graduates.
Register - Priority slots will go to grantees and participants of the CDC 1305 and the CDC 1308 grants. Space is VERY limited and registration is required.
For more information or questions, please please contact Chibu Anyanwu (ECEs) and/or Kevon Harris (K-12 schools) at [email protected].
