Owning the Impact of Your Data

- This session will go beyond the “what” of quality data management outcomes to focus on the “why,” including the downstream effects of enrollment audit and data validation practices on the Report Card, public reporting, and special population data systems. In addition, a guest speaker will provide further understanding of the impact of data for the public charter sector. This session will also discuss strategies for successful partnerships between OSSE DAR Liaisons and LEA staff, as well as highlight key tools and reports that all Data Managers should draw upon regularly to ensure data quality.
Effective Data Feed Practices for the Start of School
- Audience: Data Managers
- Time: 75 minutes
- This session will introduce the support plan and timeline for connecting and configuring LEA data feeds to OSSE data systems in anticipation of the 2019-20 school year. This session will also review the roles played by multiple OSSE teams when supporting LEAs in troubleshooting feed management and data errors, and uses for the LEA Feed Management (LFM) tool.
Introducing Year-Round Duplicative Enrollment Resolution Process and Policy
- Audience: Data Managers, Enrollment Audit POCs
- Time: 75 minutes
- This session will primarily focus on OSSE’s new year-round duplicative enrollment policy and LEA user application. Participants will learn more about strategies to help their LEAs prevent duplicative enrollments throughout the school year via data management practices, reports and tools, family outreach, and collaboration with OSSE staff and other LEAs.
New Enrollment Audit POC Training
- Audience: Enrollment Audit POCs
- Time: 90 minutes
- Targeted toward Enrollment Audit POCs in their roles for two or fewer school years, participants will receive introductory training on the enrollment audit and its application, purpose, and timeline. The session will also include an overview of benefits for LEAs and an overview of how to prepare effectively for the 2019-20 audit.
Experienced Enrollment Audit POC Training
- Audience: Enrollment Audit POCs
- Time: 75 minutes
- Experienced POCs, or Enrollment Audit staff in their roles for three or more school years, will receive updates on the enrollment audit timeline, as well as policies and tools for preparing for a successful 2019-20 process in this training.
ELs from A to Z: Policies, Procedures, and Responsibilities for Serving English Learners
- Audience: English Learner POCs
- Time: 90 minutes
- This session will highlight key start of school processes and procedures in the newly updated English Learner policies and procedures. In addition, participants will also discuss strategies for effective and accurate implementation of the Home Language Survey, as well as entry and exit processes and program models for serving students identified as English learners.
Leveraging Student Data to Prepare for English Learners

- This session will discuss how LEAs can leverage student-level data through the Early Access to English Learner (EL) Qlik app, including strategies for program planning and staffing, tips for sharing data with school-level staff, and troubleshooting for data errors. Participants will also learn about the Bridge to High School Qlik app and its uses as a rich source of student-level data for English learners in high school.
SWDs from A to Z: Policies, Procedures, and Responsibilities for Serving Students with Disabilities
- Audience: Special Education POCs
- Time: 90 minutes
- This session will highlight key updates in special education for the 2019-20 school year, including changes to the IDEA monitoring process and new entry and exit documentation requirements. This session will also help LEAs prepare for the 2019-20 school year by reviewing strategies for increasing data quality for students attending both LEA and nonpublic campuses.

Submitting Calendars and Transportation Request Forms (TRF) in the New TOTE: Workshop and Training
- Audience: Transportation POCs, Special Education POCs
- Time: 90 minutes
- This session will train users on the newly updated Transportation Online Tool for Education (TOTE). Participants should come prepared to submit TRFs for current students, provide feedback to OSSE staff on TOTE 2.0, and engage in an open question and answer session in this interactive, hands-on workshop.
Working Together to Ensure Transportation Success
- Audience: Transportation POCs
- Time: 75 minutes
- This session will discuss the various roles of OSSE, LEAs, and families when working together to ensure data accuracy and timely submission of transportation requests. This session will also highlight ways LEAs can plan ahead to ensure eligible students enrolled late in the summer are still transported to school on the first day. The session will also provide tips for leveraging key data reports and quickly resolving data errors.
