200 Schools to Open Doors to Enroll and Re-enroll Students for Enrollment Saturday on April 29

Tuesday, April 25, 2023

Two hundred DC Public Schools and DC public charter schools will open their doors on Saturday, April 29, for families to enroll or re-enroll their children for the 2023-24 school year.

Enrollment Saturday will take place between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. A list of participating schools is available at www.myschooldc.org/enroll/enrollment-saturday.

While most schools can accept school enrollment requirements electronically, some families may prefer to enroll or re-enroll their child in person. Enrollment Saturday gives families the flexibility to submit their enrollment paperwork directly to the school outside of normal operating hours.

“Enrollment Saturday gives families the chance to submit enrollment materials in person, if that is their preferred method, and also to see the school and meet school staff,” said State Superintendent Dr. Christina Grant. “It is a great opportunity for families and students, especially for students enrolling in a new school, to engage with their school communities.”

If a child is matched with a school in the My School DC lottery, families must enroll their child by May 1 to secure their spot. To enroll, check school requirements at their respective websites, or visit myschooldc.org/enroll/how-enroll-your-child. A parent or guardian must complete the school’s enrollment requirements and residency verification processes, as well as submit completed health forms.

If families missed the My School DC lottery deadlines, they can use the 2023-24 post-lottery application to apply to participating schools. Go to myschooldc.org/postlotto for more information or call the My School DC hotline at (202) 888-6336, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for help with the application.
