The Scholarships for Opportunity and Results (SOAR) Act grants support the public charter sector through a combination of formula and competitive grants to public charter local education agencies (LEAs) and nonprofit charter-support organizations. The SOAR Act Grant is authorized by the District of Columbia School Incentive Act Scholarships for Opportunity and Results Act of 2003, 84.370C, Public Law 108-199). The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) currently administers $17.5 million in SOAR funding.
