Public Charter School Reopening Grant Fiscal Year 2021 Notice of Application and Preliminary Allocations March 2021

Thursday, March 11, 2021

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is releasing a $10 million grant program for the District’s public charter schools to support and prioritize the return of students to classrooms for in person instruction. This application is now available and can be accessed at grants.osse.dc.gov. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 12, 2021.

This is a formula grant with awards available to each charter local educational agency (LEA) proposing to reopen in the 2020-21 school year for in-person classroom instruction while also meeting certain requirements. Award amounts granted to each charter LEA will be based on the number of schools that reopen within the LEA, the type of program offered at each reopened school, and the number of students attending for in-person instruction.

Based on the submissions received from the Notice of Intent to Apply, OSSE is now able to share the preliminary allocations for this grant, which may be found in the appendix. Please note that these allocations may change. Final allocations will be based on approved applications.
