The Office of the State Superintendent of Education is pleased to release its Nutrition Education Plan. The plan focuses on enhancing students’ acceptance and consumption of healthy food items, as well as their knowledge on nutrition concepts and how to apply these concepts to their daily routines. The plan was developed with feedback from various stakeholders working in nutrition education in the District, including: LEA and school staff, relevant District agencies, community based organizations, universities, and OSSE’s Youth Advisory Committee. It contains action items that can be used by the community, LEAs/schools, and student families/guardians to increase the quality and quantity of nutrition education delivered to students and achieve its overarching goal.
