December 4, 2017 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, State Superintendent of Education, Hanseul Kang, announced a professional services agreement between the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) and Alvarez and Marsal to review DCPS policies and investigate the specific allegations at Ballou High School in regards to graduation and attendance policies.
“Alvarez and Marsal has a proven expertise in auditing school district policies and procedures to ensure integrity and transparency. As the state education agency, we look forward to working with them to determine what happened at Ballou High School, but also to ensure we are looking deeply, system-wide, to ensure we are meeting our achievement goals.”
Results of the investigation are expected within 45 days to the Mayor.
