The Healthy Schools Act of 2010 (HSA), D.C. Official Code § 38-821.01 et seq., is a comprehensive piece of legislation which ensures that schools are a healthy place for all students. The Healthy Schools Act requires annual reporting for the following programs:
- Farm to School and School Gardens Program: As required by the Healthy Schools Act, a report on the District’s farm-to school initiatives and recommendations for improvement; and a report on the District’s school gardens, plans for expanding them, and recommendations for improvement.
- Health and Physical Education Program: As required by the Healthy Schools Act, a report on the physical education (PE) and health education requirements.
